Here's A Cool 12 Bar Blues Soloing Technique You Can Use In Your Playing

This is a very easy lesson designed to get the creative juices flowing
over a 12 Bar Blues.

The only scale you're going to work with here
is the minor and major pentatonics.

That's it!

I'll be mixing up the A minor pentatonic, A major pentatonic, and C major pentatonic scales. All these scales work together very well together for an effective solo.

The only thing you need to think about is using the A major pentatonic over the A7 chord. This always sounds great! The D7 and E7 can be treated with the A minor pentatonic and C major pentatonic.

I'll be applying the above suggestions in the solo here so you have an idea how to use them. Have fun!

Learn The Dominant 7 Chords For When You Start Playing Blues Guitar

Dominant 7 chords are the most common type of chord utilized in
the Blues Style.

It's one of the main three qualities of 7th chords
and they're used in many styles of music.

In this lesson there are 4
forms that I think you need to know to get you playing the Blues fast.

So, what exactly is a Dominant 7? It's a major triad with a lowered 7th meaning the 7th is a whole step below the root.

Example: C E G Bb

"C-E-G" is the major triad and the "Bb" is the lowered 7th.

The goal is to memorize these shapes so you can use them in any song. Practice transitioning among all the forms and observe the job of each finger.

You want minimal movement when transitioning and by working through each form slowly, you'll be able to make the changes with little effort.

This is a piece I wrote to work on your hybrid picking.

It also has a little flat picking thrown in as well.

Start this piece slow and make sure above everything else that you maintain a solid technique.

You want to build your endurance with your hybrid picking so just work it slow and consistent and you'll be fine.

A metronome won't hurt either. Of course, you can vary the tempo slightly later with a piece like this to inject some musicality.

The Fender Music Foundation is looking for 10 ReverbNation Artists from around the world to perform a charity concert on StageIt.com. Artists that have previously graced this online stage include Jason Mraz, Trey Songz, Jimmy Buffett, Indigo Girls, Lacuna Coil, Butch Walker, Glen Phillips, Lelia Broussard, Jenny Owen Youngs, Bess Rogers, KORN and Plain White T's. The performances are scheduled for April 26, 2012 between 6pm and 8pm.

The Fender Music Foundation is proud to announce its first online benefit concert on Stageit. With the participation of ReverbNation artists, we raise awareness and funding for vital music programs across the country. The Fender Music Foundation was created to provide funding and resources for music programs across America so that kids and adults alike will have an opportunity to experience the joys of music. We also educate the public on the value of a musical education. With your help, we can make a difference in people's lives by providing them a gift that lasts a lifetime.

To perform for this event each artist will need a web camera and the following hardware requirements for broadcasting.
